Sancti Spiritus, Cuba holds a special place in my heart. My friends, the music, the art, the ingenuity all speak to me on so many levels. This trip was especially poignant in that instead of documenting I got to share my perspective of this inspiring country with those that have helped me expand my perception. Solidarity Rock, the Canadian non-profit society I am part of, held two photography exhibits with artists Drew McIntosh (Canada), Samuel Reina Calvo (Cuba), Sandy Phimester (Canada), Bryan Kulba (Canada) and I (USA). Arrabio, one of my favorite bands, played the openings. The energy was palpable. I deeply thank Drew McIntosh and William Garcia for the opportunities, and everybody involved for making such memorable moments possible. I equally enjoyed the opportunity to talk to young Cuban artists, at the invitation of Hermes Entenza, at UNEAC in Sancti Spiritus, about art-technology-collaboration.
Sancti Spíritus, Cuba ocupa un lugar especial en mi corazón. Mis amigos, la música, el arte, la ingenuidad, todos hablan de mí en muchos niveles. Este viajefue especialmente conmovedora en la que, en lugar de documentar tengo quecompartir mi punto de vista de este país inspiradora con los que me han ayudado a ampliar mi percepción. Solidaridad Rock, la organización Canadiense sin fines de lucro, la sociedad que soy parte de, llevó a cabo dos exposiciones de fotografía, con artistas de Drew McIntosh (Canadá), Samuel Reina Calvo (Cuba), Sandy Phimester (Canadá), Bryan Kulba (Canadá) y yo (EE.UU.). Arrabio, una de mis bandas favoritas, jugó las exposiciones. La energía era palpable. Agradezco profundamente Drew McIntosh y William García por las oportunidades, y todo lo que se trata de hacer tales momentos memorablesposible.
